Structural Integration Journey: Session 6

Structural Integration Journey

Session 6

Entering The Core ...Continued

Or

The Back Session

Focus: Adjust and lengthen the centerline, or core, that runs vertically through the body.

Results: Better balance and freedom of movement. Walking takes a fraction of the energy typically expended.

In the traditional Soma series, this was the first session where the client was treated face down.

With this the practitioner would finish up the the core sessions work on the posterior hip as well as deeper work into the lower leg and thigh. Rounding out the session we would then finish up work to the rest of the spine.

As i have stated in the past the newer knowledge I have gained from the Functional Range System gives me slightly different positions to work on the same areas so I have found other positions that I use that better access the areas mentioned.

Common issues that may be helped in this session are:

Posterior Thigh( hamstring issues)

Lower leg( calf issues)

Hip pain

Pelvic Floor issues

Lower back pain

Upper back pain

As you can see this covers a big portion of the body. But at this point, this is technically not the first time these areas have had work done on them. As is the beauty of this series we tend to take 2 steps forward and step back. In my longer sessions, I will also generally have enough time to work on client issues that may be a little more chronic but that may technically fall outside the session's particular areas of interest.

Check out the link below for the different monthly options for the series. Not ready to commit to a whole series, unsure if the work will mesh well? Try the Somassage option, this is a one-shot full body session that takes bits and pieces from the whole of the series to give clients an introduction to the type of work and how they may feel after going through the whole series.
