SI Journey: Session 4 Enter the Core

Structural Integration Journey

Session 4

Entering The Core

Focus: Adjust and lengthen the center line, or core, that runs vertically through the body.

Results: Better balance and freedom of movement. Walking takes a fraction of the energy typically expended.

As I touched on in the post on session 3, session 4 marks the beginning of the second chuck or segment of the structural integration series. The first 3 sessions are not only introducing the new client to this type of work if they have never had it done, but also are a way to prep the tissue for the remainder of the sessions to follow.

The first three sessions can be viewed as working on the outer layers or the sleeve. The following 4 sessions start work on the core, those deepest layers of the structure.

In this session particularly we begin to work on the anterior hip. The main structures addressed in this session will revolve around the inner thigh and starts an introduction into the pelvis as well as some review into the some of the deeper structures of the lower leg.

Common issues that may be helped in this session are:

Inner knee pain

Groin pain or flexibility

Deep calf pain

Pelvic Floor issues
